INSPIRATION

ICT as a group cannot claim to have any one inspirational source – since each member has different tastes, here’s a little about who’s influenced them.

Dave – The Clash, The Jam, The Sex Pistols, Queen
Dave – you could call him the band punk, except that he looks nothing like one. Never mind though, since his favourite band – The Clash is his main influence.
Why you ask, well its because in almost every picture taken of them they look very cool and rebellious and they wrote great stuff as well as being incredibly ace in general.
The Clash were formed in 1976 and comprised of Joe Strummer [Vocals, Guitar], Mick Jones [Lead Guitar, Vocals], Paul Simonon [Bass, Vocals] & Topper Headon [Drums]. The Clash split in 1985 – following Headon’s walking out and Jones being sacked – the new Clash line-up was far from the Clash of old, and their last album “Cut The Crap” was never the same calibre as those made with the original line-up. The Clash made 6 other albums [The Clash, Give ‘Em Enough Rope, London Calling, Super Black Market Clash, Sandinista! & Combat Rock] and released 19 singles during their career. Sadly their frontman – Joe Strummer died in 2002 of a heart attack, he was 50.

Paul – Guns n’ Roses, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, The Clash
Paul’s favourite group and biggest influence are Guns and Roses, formed in 1985 and comprising of Axel Rose [Vocals], Slash [Lead Guitar], Steve Adler [Drums], Duff McKagan [Bass] and Izzy Stradlin [Guitar].
The band dominated the rock scene in the late 80s-early 90s but as alternative rock became popular their popularity began to fall, the band sacked Adler and all its members have been working on or worked on several solo projects, although most of the members of Gn'R formed Velvet Revolver, news of Axel is scant. The band released several albums – these albums include “Appetite for Destruction”, “Gn’R Lies”, “Use Your Illusion 1”, “Use Your Illusion 2” and the imaginatively titled “The Spaghetti Incident?” (could have been one of ours that – Dave)

James – Metallica
The unanswerable gods of rock for at least a decade – Metallica are James, the guitarist’s main influence. Formed in 1981 and still rocking away to this very day – Metallica now only have 2 members of their original line-up following the death of their first bassist in a bus accident, and their second one walking out on them. These two members, James Hetfield [Vocals, Guitar] and Lars Ulrich [Drums] their line-up also include Kirk Hammet (or Kirt Hammer as Dave calls him) [Guitar] and
Metallica have released many albums over the years – their first being Kill ‘Em All in 1983. Some would say Metallica have gotten worse nowadays, but I’m sure Mr Goodwin would beg to differ.

Joe – Muse, Blink 182, Metallica, Marylin Manson
